Over the years of conducting and attending auction sales, I have discovered one thing. Auctons work! They work for the seller and
the buyer. I am still amazed at the reports I receive from local and regional Auctioneers concerning the prices they have been able
to achieve using the auction method. It goes without saying, the toaster oven in a box lot will hardly bring $20 at auction when you
can buy a new one at the store for $19.99
It's always the cup and saucer that fetches $100 or a French desk that brings in $12,000 (and the buyer is estatic! I mind you) that keeps
the sellers mouths from closing. To an Estate Representative or a family member consigning Grandpa's "old stuff", this is fantastic!
Most of these people are not consistently in the auction marketplace and require the experience of a knowledgeable Auctioneer to help
with either a consignment or the dispersal of a family estate.
Some have said, "Don't sell your house at auction..you'll lose your shirt! " Well, tell that to the growing number of property
owners choosing the auction method. I spoke to a Real Estate Agent the other day and she told me the market is thriving...she is receiving
2 and 3 contracts on a house and allowing the seller to choose which contract to accept. I think to myself....what if you had an advertised
auction and invited those 2 and 3 interested buyers plus 10 others who are qualified buyers and let them bid against each other to gain
the highest price! Sounds too good to be true but that is exactly what smart homeowner's are doing all over the country!
The bottom line, at one time or another, all of us require the services of an experienced Auctioneer. In my opinion, there is nothing to
lose and everything to gain......and you can keep your shirt too.
